Junior Kindergarten at AGAPE Preschool
Our Junior Kindergarten program is specially designed to give young learners a little "extra" support and preparation before entering kindergarten. This program provides a warm, nurturing environment where children build essential skills while having fun and engaging in meaningful play.
Phonics and letter writing are key components of our curriculum, and we use the Fundations program to help students develop early literacy skills. Through this hands-on, systematic approach, children learn letter sounds, letter formation, and foundational reading skills that will serve them well as they continue their educational journey.
In addition to literacy development, Bible stories are woven into our weekly lessons, teaching children important values like kindness, love, and gratitude. These stories help children understand the world around them from a perspective of faith and compassion.
Social and emotional growth is another focus of our Junior Kindergarten program. Children learn to recognize and express their emotions, build positive relationships with peers, and work together as a community. Through both guided activities and play-based learning, students develop the confidence and skills to thrive socially and emotionally.
Overall, our Junior Kindergarten program offers a balanced blend of academics, faith, and play to ensure that each child is well-prepared for the next step in their learning journey, all while having fun and making lasting memories.

Resource Class at AGAPE Preschool
In Ms. Melanie's Resource class, all students at AGAPE have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic, interactive learning environment twice a week. The class focuses on developing both gross and fine motor skills through playful activities such as pretend play, music, and movement. Students actively participate in imaginative scenarios that help them practice coordination, balance, and motor control, while also fostering creativity and social skills. Ms. Melanie also leads engaging read-aloud sessions, where children can interact with the story, discuss characters, and build comprehension skills. This well-rounded approach allows students to develop physically, cognitively, and emotionally in a supportive, fun-filled atmosphere.
